Tom Rucker was appointed President at Magna International in October 2019. In this role, he leads Magna International ’s Powertrain group, which produces transmission and driveline systems and metal-formed components.
He began his professional experience as a Manager for Turn Key Industrial Plants in Germany and Venezuela from 1995 to 2000. In 2000, he joined Magna Powertrain as the General Manager for the group ’s plant in Saltillo, Mexico. Tom has held numerous positions within the former New Process Gear (acquired by Magna) with increasing levels of responsibility, working in the United States and Canada. More recently, he has held executive-level positions with Magna Powertrain, including Senior Vice President of the group ’s Metal-Forming Solutions and Transmission Systems groups, and Senior Vice President for Program Management & Launch Excellence. He is a graduate from the Technical University in Berlin, where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration.
