Our guest this month is Ajay Kochhar, President and CEO, Co-Founder, and Executive Director of Li-Cycle.

Ajay is responsible for strategic oversight of Li-Cycle’s various functional business units, which includes Commercial, Technical (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality/HSEQ, Operations, Commercialization, Research and Development) and Shared Services. Additionally, Ajay supports the development of international growth initiatives for the company in collaboration with Li-Cycle’s Corporate Development team.
Ajay has extensive technology and project development experience with  in-depth engineering and project management experience through clean technology development in the lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper, gold, lead, zinc, molybdenum, and rare earth metals industries. Ajay is a graduate of the University of Toronto and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Chemical Engineering.

Ajay's presentation will explore the urgent need for creating a sustainable and local critical battery materials supply chain while addressing the economic and sustainability challenges of lithium-ion battery recycling.  Ajay explains how Li-Cycle Spoke & Hub Technologies are able to help overcome some of these industry challenges and close the loop for critical battery materials throughout the world.
