    Hi Everyone,

These forums are so hidden that I don't know if anyone will use them.  So this is a test.  If you've made it this far, leave a comment saying hello.  If you have an EV, let us know about it.  If you're just interested and have questions....ask away. If I understand correctly, I should be notified of any action on this forum and will answer if appropriate.

Let me start, I'm Jake Branch and I have a 2018 Nissan Leaf that I bought new and have put 115 000km on in the first 2 years, mostly from my commute from my home in Pickering to my job in Peterborough.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

    Jake.

    Hi Jake!

You make a good point. The idea was to set up forums for each region to allow local discussion and then one general EVS forum for more general topics. But there hasn't been a lot of take up so far so we may want to re-visit how we are using them.

    Thanks for the feedback!

The forums do seem a bit confusing but here goes,

I bought a 2017 Nissan LEAF a year ago. It has served me very well. I do have one issue, When it is very cold below -20 C. The drivers door lock will not operate either with the fob or with the outside door button. It will unlock with the key. Is this a common problem? Is it worth the time to take the door apart and check the lock "motor"? Thank you for your help. I have the added problem of no EV service at the local Nissan dealership.

Hello, I hope I'm doing this correctly! I have a Chevy Bolt and I drive in 'L' a lot, in the city. What happens with my brake lights if I'm not touching the brakes? The car slows and comes to a stop when I take my foot off the gas pedal. Do I have to worry about being rear-ended? Thanks.

    Hi Jake

Delighted that there is a chapter nearby. I have a 2017 Model S and have owned it since 2018. Before the pandemic, my wife and I travelled to visit our daughter in Texas annually, but that pleasure is lost for the time being. No great problems with the vehicle. Looking forward to the next meeting.

    Cheers,

    Harry Nash

My name is Paul Sobanski and I just joined the EVA Kawartha Chapter.  I am in the market for a new vehicle to replace a Sante Fe. I want to buy an electric vehicle and I'm hoping the EVA can get me going on some some comparison research.  I do not need something as big as the Sante Fe but I do have a need for storage, utility trailer towing capacity and I'd like a range of 400 km.  Is there anything out there other than a Tesla that will meet my needs?
